LGBTQIA+ Affirmative Services

Living in today's world can be challenging for everyone, and at times, seeking therapy is necessary to work through life's difficulties. This is no different for sexual and gender diverse people. Although navigating life as an LGBTQIA+ person can also bring unique difficulties and issues, such as stigma and discrimination, that can really impact one’s wellbeing, and working with a therapist who has a deeper knowledge and understanding of these distinct challenges can be both desirable and beneficial.

I am an out and proud member of the LGBTQIA+ community and an LGBTQIA+ affirmative counsellor. I actively support and affirm the experiences, identities, and rights of LGBTQIA+ individuals. I prioritise creating a safe and non-judgmental space where you, as my client, can feel completely free to express yourself, explore your identities, work through issues, whether they are related to your sexual and gender identities or not, and find your own path to well-being. My work is not only informed by my qualification but also by my own queer experience and the experiences of the those in the diverse communities I share.

Whilst everyone is welcome to use my services, I specialise in providing support and guidance to LGBTQIA+ people.  Additionally, I can provide support to close family members and friends who are seeking a better understanding of, and ways to support, their sexual and gender diverse loved ones. I believe that by providing information, guidance, and a safe space to explore these topics, we can foster stronger connections and promote a more inclusive and supportive environment for everyone involved.
